PRESIDENT'S REPORT

On behalf of our new Board of Director’s, I would like to say thank you to our past director’s who have provided many years of service and commitment. The situation we are in is a bit discouraging for all of us, including the past board, and even for those of us coming into new positions without the positive energy that would be more in order with a new term of service.

But please, everyone, let’s not forget that we are all neighbours, people we see shopping, walking our dogs, playing with our children, enjoying the pool, attending community events, watching hockey and all these things. Let’s remember that we are all here because we care about the community and have a common goal of having a strong and vibrant neighbourhood with abundant amenities and services that we all share.

Somewhere along the line, things had become “botched”. A mediation process was required to help us through our elections. Our membership have stated quite clearly with a vote of non-confidence that they wish to have a complete new board. None of this went smoothly, yet we have to steer a course through difficult times.

This board consists of people with a varied background of business and community experience, and who want to help move forward with the ongoing business of MOCA. Already, because of the mediation process, there have been about two and a half months where business has not been attended to. In the meantime, personnel, services, banking, leases, grants, and all the on-going business needs attended to. We must move on and attend to business as usual. Elections will arrive again in only nine months from January, with a bulk of business to look after in the next six months between January and June.

We, your new Board of Directors, consist of concerned wives and family of past board members and completely neutral people who just want to see the community function healthily. Let’s get to work. Let us move forward with a good portion of volunteerism and fill committee’s for services and events.

We need to be strong, prudent and pertinent to MOCA interests, but not our own personal interests. The service of Office is accepting responsibility sincerely, and to humbly accept the wishes of our members.
