Millican Ogden Community Association is made up of dedicated volunteers committed to ensuring a high quality of life in and around Millican, Lynnwood & Ogden. The Board of Directors is voted in each October at the Annual General Meeting by the members of the community association that live in Millican, Lynnwood & Ogden. The Board of Directors is a collective voice to the City of Calgary on many civic affairs issues as well as responsible for the operations of 3 buildings: Community centre, Jack Setter Arena & SE Calgary Community Resource Centre.

Rick Smith
Rick relocated to Calgary in 1970 and spent a total of 40 years in the general insurance industry in both the company and broker sides, with experience in underwriting, risk analysis, claims management, account management, and customer relations, primarily handling large commercial and industrial property, casualty, commercial auto, and agriculture related insurance  programs. In 1989 Rick was elected to Calgary City Council, Ward 9, where he served two terms and participated on a number of special projects including Go-Plan, Area Redevelopment Plans, and other planning and community service projects. Rick retired in 2008 in order to spend more time at the Manitoba farm which they had now turned into their summer home.

Over the years Rick has also served in a volunteer capacity with the Parks Foundation, and the Saddledome Foundation, and continues to volunteer with the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede, Heritage Park, the Calgary Grey Cup Committee, the City of Calgary Licence and Community Standards Appeal Board, and of course the Millican Ogden Community Association. Rick continues to play oldtimers hockey and curling.  Rick is married to Mary and they have three adult children and one grandchild.

John McDonald
John grew up on Ogden, spent 20 years in the military with experiences throughout the world, and is now working as a paralegal in a major law firm downtown. John has now brought his special skills to the Millican Ogden Community Association’s Board of Directors.


Ray Jasper
Ray is a business owner and comes to MOCA with a construction background. Ray is a long time resident who has served as a MOCA Director (various roles) for a collective 20 terms! He was instrumental in initiating the enhancement of the community with the installation of the community entrance signs and has been involved in civic affairs for new and old developments.


Pieter van Lindenberg
Pieter has lived in the Community for 38 years and served as Director/Treasurer since 2013. He has an Engineering and Project Management background and enjoys looking after Finances and Facilities.


Sarah Atkinson
Sarah was born and raised in Millican Ogden and is now raising her family in the community. She is the granddaughter of Harry Huish one of MOCA’s founding members and the first president of the community association. Sarah brings a background of years of volunteering in the community and around the city. She hopes to continue supporting our community anyway she can.


Jim Logan
Jim and fiance Angela moved to Ogden January of 2017 after realizing how enjoyable the area is. Jim has a construction background and has been a great asset with respect to the operations of our facilities.


Lorraine Robinson
Lorraine, a long time community resident, has lived in the community for the past 32 years.  A  nature lover, she takes full advantage of the community’s great outdoor amenities. Retired from a teaching career including teacher, principal and Associate Superintendent positions, she is now a very active MOCA Director entering her third term as well as continuing to contribute to local and provincial Francophone organizations in Alberta.


Deanna Wylie
Deanna was born in Calgary and, with the exception of 9 years spent in Victoria, BC, She’s lived here all of her life.  Deanna’s career has been in the non-profit, social services field for the past 15 years.  In 2014 she purchased a 100 year old home in the community, and in 2015  joined the MOCA Board of Directors.  Deanna loves the unique houses and large trees that line our streets.  Millican-Ogden-Lynnwood truly is a hidden gem in our city, and she is grateful to be a part of the MOCA Board and the community! 


Angela Cruickshank
Angela was born and raised in Southern Ontario, and after living in Calgary for almost 10 years, her and her fiancé Jim decided to move to Ogden in January 2017 after realizing the amazing things this area had to offer.  Quickly after settling into the neighourhood she realized she was very passionate about this area and needed to get more involved.  She is looking forward to supporting the residents of Millican, Ogden and Lynnwood to continue to make this community a great place to live and raise a family.
